Music list from our iPod -

Here are the lists of songs we have on our iPod (iPod is made by Apple).
Most of the files are in MP3 format and were converted from our private
CDs, records & tapes, but we have also purchased songs online from the
Apple iTunes store. Since it is becoming hard to listen to all if the
various types of music (such as tapes, CD's, records, etc) as they all
need different players, we decided to put almost all of our music on the
iPod. The only reason we chose an iPod is because of the hard drive
capacity compared to other digital players. We don't think iPod is the
best player available (as it does have many drawbacks and failings), but
it was the only player available with it's capacity at the time.
About Downloading music
We have purchased and downloaded a number of songs from the Apple iTunes
Store, but I find the albums, artists and availability of songs are still very
limited. There are lots of "modern & mainstream" titles online but
outside of this small market - forget it. Additionally the quality of
the MP3's from the Apple Itunes store is mediocre.
About Compatibility
Unfortunately, prior to purchasing the iPod, we also converted thousands
of songs into WMA (Microsoft) format), however the iPod doesn't
recognize WMA's. Heaven forbid they would make the music media more
compatible with other music devices in this digital world. It'll be a
little while (and a lot of hours) until everything is in re-converted
into MP3 format.
About iTunes Software
The software that comes with the iPod is not great and is very limited
in many aspects. We would not recommend Itunes as the ideal choice,
however searching for a more customizable and more useful program would
be well worth your time. Also remember that any songs purchased from the
Apple iTunes store are only playable on your iPod or on your
"Authorized" copy of iTunes!
